I am an Irish fly Fishing Guide.Seems like I have been fishing my entire life, certainly since I acquired my first rod aged four when I lived in Lisburn, Co. Antrim. While living in Lisburn I spent my time on the Upper Bann,Lagan and it's main tributary the Ravernet while the Sixmilewater and Maine would get a visit at the weekend. I moved to County Armagh around 1999 and explored the nearby Cusher, Callan and Clanrye Rivers. In over fifty years fishing I have fished virtually every river I can think of in Northern Ireland and quite a few in the South for salmon, trout, seatrout and dollaghan, the knowledge gained across all these rivers laid the foundations for me becoming an Irish fly Fishing Guide . I am a certified RYA first aider and also a 1st4 Sport Angling Coach.
The last 20 years of my fishing life has seen me focus on the competition element of our sport where I have learnt many new and exciting methods and made many new friends. In 2003 I entered my first international qualifier and gained my first cap in 2004 for the Irish Rivers Team. Since then I have been on the Irish Rivers Team 13 times, I have also represented Ireland and Northern Ireland at Lough Style, Commonwealth, European and World Championship Level. Competing at this level has helped me hone various techniques that I can pass onto those who avail of guided fly fishing in Ireland.
I have been ITFFA Ulster Rivers Champion an unprecedented four times ( 3 years in succession) and the Irish National Rivers Champion 3 times . I also was TAFI Ulster Rivers Champion in 2017 and 2022. I also won the Lough Melvin Open in 2010 and The TAFI All Ireland Masters River Championship in 2022.

Seems I have been fishing my entire life, certainly since I attained my first rod aged four. I became the proud owner off my first flyrod aged 10 and have been flyfishing for the last 35 years and have fished virtually every river I can think of in Northern Ireland.
The last 10 years have seen me focus on the competition scene, entering my first international qualifier in 2003 and attaining my first cap for the Irish Rivers Team. Since then I have been a member off the Irish Rivers Team 8 times, captaining it twice and last year I represented Ireland in the Loch Style Team on Loch Harray in Orkney.
I have won the Ulster Rivers Championship a record 4 times and have also won the Irish National Rivers Championship two years in succession. On the stillwater front I won the Melvin Open in 2010
My experience to date has taught me many valuable lessons in my pursuit off trout and salmon, contact me and let me share them with you. I will have a box off flies tied for your day out so that you can enjoy to the extreme what wonderful fishing I have to offer within 20 minutes off my home on the Rivers Bann, Cusher, Callan and Lagan. I can also travel further afield ( no more than an hour from home) to avail off the renowned Lough Neagh or Foyle systems, both systems off which I have an intimate knowledge.
